On May 1, 2014, significant changes will take effect for Canadian government’s Canadian Experience Class. The race is on to submit complete applications!

Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The CEC is for applicants who have obtained at least one year of full-time (30 hours per week) or full-time equivalent skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years. While most skilled occupations are eligible, there are six ineligible occupations: administrative officers, administrative assistants, accounting technicians/bookkeepers, cooks, food service supervisors, and retail sales supervisors.

Under the May 2014 changes, the CEC will undergo a 33% drop in its overall cap for applications from 12,000 to 8,000 and those spots will fill up very quickly.

We would be happy to help you to assess your case and determine your best options. With a cap of 200 applications for some cccupations, and an overall cap of 8,000 applications for the CEC, the race to beat the cap is anticipated to be fierce!  Thus, it is critical to start the application process as early as possible.  It takes much time and careful preparation to ensure that your application is ready, as well as language testing, Police clearances and other steps.

To see if you qualify under the CEC Program, please contact us to arrange a one hour consultation. We will examine your background, assess your case, then advise you of your options. You may even qualify for more than one immigration program, so even if the cap on your CEC occupation is reached, you may be able to qualify for another.
