If you are sponsoring your parents or grandparents, you will need to meet a minimum income
requirement for the previous 12 months. The income can be earned by the sponsor and his or her
spouse, assuming that the spouse is willing to be a co-sponsor. The amount is based upon the
“Low Income Cut Off” amount, determined by Statistics Canada, and is revised in February each
year. Until February 2006, the figures are:
